Director-General of Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA), Dakuku Adolphus Peterside has been replaced by President Muhammadu Buhari as the NIMASA boss.

Meanwhile, President Buhari has approved the appointment of Bashir Jamoh who was before now the Executive Director, Administration and Finance as the new DG.

For those who don’t know, Dakuku Peterside was appointed by the Buhari administration in 2016 and his tenure is expected to end on March 10, 2020.

It is interesting to know that the new Director-General, Bashir Jamoh holds a PhD from the University of Port Harcourt, specialising in Logistics and Transport Management.

Jamoh also holds a Master’s Degree in Management from Korea Maritime and Ocean University, a post-graduate diploma in Management Sciences from Bayero University, Kano and a Diploma in Accounting from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria.

Jamoh is 56years old, born in Kaduna State. He is also the current President of the Chartered Institute of Transport Administration of Nigeria (CiOTA). He has 32 years of professional experience in the transportation and maritime sector.

He joined NIMASA in 2003 as an Assistant Chief Commercial Officer, Eastern and Central Zones.
