The Management of Ngwo Park, Uwani, Enugu, represented by Lawrence C. Okafor, the CEO, has recently commended the Chairman and Members of the Enugu State Tourism Board, the GM/CEO, Hon. Chief Steve Odo, and all staff members, in particular Mr. Evaristus Eze, HOD, Parks and Mr. Cyril Ugwu, HOD, HTE, for their support, and commitment to the development of tourism in Enugu State.
The thumbs up comes in the wake of the approval for further development(s) at Enugu’s largest leisure, recreational and family entertainment facility, Ngwo Park, Uwani, Enugu.
Mr. Okafor, an engineer by profession, noted that the drive for excellence in tourism development, which began during ex-Governor Sullivan Chime’s tenure in office, and was further propelled by the then Commissioner, Culture and Tourism, Hon. Joe Mmamel, the then Tourism Board Chairman, HRH Igwe Emma Ndu, Odera 1 of Umana- Ndiagu in Ezeagu LGA of Enugu State, and the then GM/CEO, Hon. Tony- Manfred Nzekwe, turned out to be the breath of fresh air needed to reinvigorate the tourism industry in Enugu State. He warmly commended their vision and dedication to duty.
Since 2014, the present Park Management has consistently developed the centre, and has, in the process, transformed the centre into the place to be when it comes to leisure, sports, and family entertainment in the Coal City.
Hon. Steve Odo it will be recalled, is a tourism expert, and has published books on the subject, including the seminal Principles And Practice Of Hospitality And Tourism Management.
Lawrence Okafor, from Amofia, Ogwofia- Owa in Ezeagu LGA of Enugu State, an engineer by profession, further assured that more development (s) are planned in order to improve the ambience, efficiency, and general environment of Ngwo Park.
