Ozah Oghenemairo, a designer better known as Myro, says his relationship with rave rap star, Phyno has been a symbiotic one.
Myro, who design Phyno’s successful Alobam merchandise, said the relationship has yielded positive turnover. The designer narrated how he met the rap star.
“I met Phyno a couple of years back when he honoured one of my T-shirt exhibition parties where he performed and we struck a good harmony. Phyno loved the concept of the Alobam T-Shirts from the first day it was introduced. He also contributed by adding his own flair to the entire concept,” he stated.
Myro, who later went on touring the country with Phyno, said in every city they visited, the Alobam T-shirt was a very popular gear as fans turned out en-masse to identify with it and by extension make money.
“I am happy that the design spread real quick and far. I walk down the street and I see it everywhere. It seems bigger than me and that is the joy of every designer. It means you created a wonderful product. And I was paid off at every sale with a good and decent percentage,” he stated.
The designer also disclosed that he is set to debut on a music scene and conquer the industry within the next few years.
His first solo single titled ‘Plantain’ was released on 1st September, under the Masterpiece Records imprint and has since been garnering airplay on radio and on the web.
He plans to release more singles as he works on his debut album.
Myro said a collabo with Phyno is also not far off along with other industry heavyweights. “I want to harness all possibilities and go as far as Bob Marley went with his. I want to make great music that people can listen to at any time of the day, be it party or inspirational or any other good way,” he stated.
Myro projects that in a few years time he should be able to boast of being an entertainment mogul in the shape of P-Diddy, whose Sean Jean gear also proved really popular among fans all over the world.
