Man Arrested For Defrauding 21-Year-Old N400,000  

Bidemi Idowu, a 41 year old self acclaimed herbalist have been arrested by the men of Ogun State Police Command with various local and foreign fake currencies in his possession.

According to the release by the image maker of the Ogun State Police Command, ASP Abimbola Oyeyemi, trouble started for the herbalist cum fraudster when one Basiru Amosun reported at Imeko Divisional headquarters Tuesday that the suspect fraudulently collected a sum of N400,000 from his 21 years old son, Habeeb Amosun under the pretense that he will prepare a money doubling charm for him.

“Consequently, he gave a drinking concoction for the victim which made him to develop serious stomach disorder”, Oyeyemi said.

The release said, upon the report, the DPO CSP Ajose Muhammed detailed detectives to effect the arrest of the suspect with a search warrant to search his house.

It added that “on searching the house, the sum of N400,000 allegedly collected from the victim was recovered”. Also recovered  are 59 pieces of 1,000 fake CFA, I piece of 50 US Dollars, 600 pieces of fake N1,0000 notes and assorted charms.

The State Commissioner of Police, Ahmed Iliyasu has directed that the suspect be charged to court as soon as investigation is concluded. He equally appealed to parents to educate their children on reason why they should desist from unnecessary quest for quick money.
