Lolo Obi Goes Home

Come 24th, 25th, 26th and 29th August 2021, it will be a celebration of life in the Denis Obi family of Ikpa Okwara, Akokwa in Ideato North local government area of Imo State as they bid glorious farewell to their matriarch, Lolo Nneoma Theresa Obi (Nee Okolike).

Born in 1929, Lolo Obi died at a riped age of 92.

During her life time, the late Lolo Obi was a devout Catholic who was awarded with the prestigious title of “Nneoma” by the church in recognition of her contributions to the propagation of the Catholic faith.

She was also a community leader and women advocate who touched lives of many.

According to a programme of events released by her family, Lolo Obi’s rites of passage will commence on August 24th with a vigil mass/wake keep at her compound, Ikpa Okwara.

This will be followed the next day by lying-in -state at her compound and burial mass at CKC parish, Ikpa Okwara, Akokwa. Internment follows immediately.

Condolence visits to the family take place on 26th August while Thanksgiving mass in her honour will be held at CKC parish, Ikpa Okwara, Akokwa on Sunday, 29th of October, 2021 at 10am.

The late Lolo Obi is survived by children, grandchildren and great grandchildren including a Kano- based business mogul, Chief Dennis Òbi (Akuruoulo Akokwa)
