Lola Akande Battles James Faleke Over Reps Seat

Lola AkandeAs the next general election that will usher in the next political dispensation is fast approaching, contenders and pretenders have all come out to begin to sell their aspiration to the electorates, and the events are becoming more interesting, intriguing and enthralling by the day.

In the case of the governorship, the fierceness of the race is not different from what is obtainable in some other states but another position which many are looking out for, is Ikeja federal constituency which Honourable James Faleke presently occupies.

The battle of who takes over the position come 2015 is generating so much tension because those who are interested in the seat. Expectedly, a number of people are very much interested in taking over the seat from the man who is  currently there, who however, want to retain it but one person whose interest in the seat is making it a point of attraction is no other person but a member of Lagos House of Assembly, representing Ikeja constituency 2, Honourable Lola Fibisola Akande.

The major reason why the battle for the seat is a one to watch out for is because of the personalities involved. James Faleke is believed to be very influential in the party as he is genuinely loyal to Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, while the latter, Honourable Lola Akande, is also the elder sister of Senator Remi Tinubu, and she’s also well connected  in the party.

Faleke, who is said to be interested in the second term became influential in the party when he emerged chairman of the 57 local government chairman during his tenure as the chairman of Ojodu LCDA before gunning for the national assembly. He’s also believed to be very loyal to Asiwaju Tinubu, so, from all indications it looks like things will work in his favour in this very battle to retain his seat. On the other hand, graduate of Botany from Obafemi Awolowo University, Honourable Lola Akande, asides the support from her younger sister, Remi Tinubu, which we believe will surely go a long way for her to contend for the seat, she’s also said to have gotten the backings of some top party leaders who feel Faleke is moveable.

Internal workings have not ceased to be in progress. Faleke, we learnt have been holding series of meetings and his newly open bar, i-Level along Ogunusi road, just opposite Airtel office have been making consultation to see the cup pass him over. Latest information is that the leaders of their constituency, some days ago at a meeting endorsed Faleke for the second term and that Lola has agreed to step down. But we further gathered from a very reliable source that Lola is poised to take on Faleke without looking back.
