The men who carried out a robbery attack on popular singer, Lil Kesh in Lagos on August 19, 2025, have been arrested by the Kano State Police.
The police disclosed this in a statement issued by SP Abdullahi Haruna, Spokesperson, Kano State Police Command.
SP Haruna said: “The suspects; Mathew Adewole (25) and Mukhtar Muhammad (31) were tracked and apprehended at Na’ibawa Quarters in Kano on September 11, 2025, following weeks of intelligence-led operations.”
“The suspects were allegedly involved in the August 19, 2025 attack at Lil Kesh’s residence in Bera Estate, Chevron, Lagos, where the artist sustained a deep neck wound in what police have described as an attempted murder.”
“Investigations revealed that during the assault, Adewole coerced the rapper into transferring ₦2.12 million from his bank account to an account belonging to Muhammad before the suspects fled the scene.”
“The Kano State Police Command has achieved a significant breakthrough in a recent case of armed robbery and attempted murder, thanks to robust intelligence efforts and strong community collaboration.”
“The arrests were made in line with the directive of the Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, to enhance intelligence operations and combat violent crime nationwide.”
suspects have been transferred to the Lagos State Police Command for further investigation and prosecution.
