League Of Maritime Editors Elects Remi Itie, Vice President

The League of Maritime Editors has elected the Publisher and Editor-in-Chief of Pathway magazine, as the Vice President of the League of Maritime Editors.

Itie, a former Staff of New Nigeria newspapers has covered the maritime beat since the 80s. She is expected to bring her wealth of experience to bear in running of the League, an association of maritime editors and publishers, which was formed 16 years ago to promote the maritime sector and protect the nation’s economic interest as well as the interest of Publishers.

Itie who replaces Friday Odemina promised to work with other members of the Ovie Edomi-led administration in a way that will profit both the editors/publishers and other maritime stakeholders especially at this time of the nation’s history.

Meanwhile, Edomi, President of the League of Maritime Editors, expressed delight at the election of Itie as his Vice and noted that the Vice President, a pioneer  member of maritime journalism in Nigeria, will use her new office to provide direction to up and coming Journalists as well as set agenda for policy makers while contributing to taking the League to another level.
