A member of the Federal House of Representatives, Hon. Victor Mela has been sentenced to one-month imprisonment.

A Magistrate Court in Wuse, Zone 6, gave the judgement on Friday, November 27th, 2020.

The lawmaker, on November 10th, 2020 was found guilty of lying under oath in his CD001 INEC form submitted ahead of the 2019 general.

The court found that he lied about his citizenship. It was discovered that the lawmaker has a British passport.

For those who don’t know, Victor Mela Danzaria is a member of the Federal House of Representatives, representing the Balanga-Billiri Federal Constituency in Gombe State.

The lawmaker was given an option of fine.
