Lagos State House of Assembly Speaker, Mojisola Meranda has resigned as the speaker.

Meranda, announced her resignation on Monday, March 3rd, 2025.

She said: “I take a bow as your Speaker. I resigned to protect the state assembly. I am not a quitter.”

Before announcing her resignation, the state lawmakers commended her legislative acumen, diligence, and performance within her short time in office.

Speaking on her resignation, Desmond Olusola Elliot thanked Meranda for demonstrated good leadership and leading the house well.

Temitope Adewale said: “We celebrate you for your quality service. You are a heroine of democracy. You came, you saw, you conquer. You are a victim of circumstance. This house is in tears.”
