On Sunday 12th, June 2016, the Angels will sing in celestial adoration while on earth, there will be great reverence and joy. The Anglican, Diocese of Ideato, Imo State will celebrate an iconic and epic mass to consummate the landmark promotion of some great servants of the Most High God. It will be the occasion of the priestly ordination and collation of canons of the Cathedral Church of St. Peter, Arodizuogu.
The revered Bishop that will officiate the ordination ceremony is the Archbishop of the Ecclesiastical Province of Owerri and the Diocesan Bishop of Ideato, His Grace, the Most Revd. Dr. Caleb Anny Maduoma, JP.
The ceremony which is in two parts will feature both the ordination of priests and the collation of cannons. Those that will be ordained as priests are: Rev. Emmanuel, Olubuogu, Rev. Chukwuma Alozie, Rev. Sopuruchukwu Okwaraejiaku, Rev. Shedrack Chukwuzitere and Rev. Abel Chibuike.
While among those that will be collated as Canons are: Rev. Kelechi Chimara, Rev. Godwin Okpara, Rev. Godstime Okereke, Rev. Chukwudubem Uduji.
The Rev. Kelechi Chimara, one of the Statutory Canon of the Cathedral is the Vicar of Umuopia Parish in Akokwa Archdeaconry. He is also the Anglican Children Ministry (ACM) Coordinator and Chaplain of the Anglican Diocese of Ideato. He is a man God has used immensely to His glory. An embodiment of humility and an erudite scholar, Rev. Kelechi has exemplified himself as a committed servant of God. He has been a great source of inspiration, counsel and guidance to the youth of Ideato Anglican synod. Ideato hereby rejoices with a man of God who has made a difference in the lives of young people, saving the destinies of so many of God’s precious jewels by his tireless and timely interventions.
He was preferred a Statutory Canon of the Cathedral Church of St. Peter, Arondizuogu at the Third Session of the Sixth Synod of the Diocese, by the Bishop of the Diocese. Meanwhile, the thanksgiving service and reception to his honour comes on Sunday June 26, 2016 at Christ Church Umuopia, Akokwa, Ideato North L.G.A. Imo State at 8am.
