Jim Ovia Splashes N247 Billion On New Company

Jim-OviaPresident Goodluck Jonathan performed the ground-breaking ceremony of $1.5 billion (over N247 billion) Methanol Industry set up by Jim Ovia in Akwa-Ibom State.

He thanked the host community for providing land for the project, pointing out that the country needs more of such project meant to provide direct and indirect jobs for the teeming populace and reduce poverty.

Governor Akpabio described President Jonathan as a transformational leader, noting that he has touched all sectors of the economy.

Akpabio lauded Jim Ovia for his vision in coming to site the project in the riverine area of the state, pointing out that he did so on his volition without being lobbied.

He described the project as laudable as it would positively affect the future of the state and transform the economy of the state and the nation.

The Chairman, Quantum Petro-Chemical Company, Jim Ovia said the President’s visit to the area was a further demonstration to his industrialistion policy.

Ovia said the project is important to the manufacturing industry, saying that it would produce fertilizer, tyres, shovels, clothes and plastic bottles, among others.
