The Civil Defence, Fire, Immigration and Prisons Board (CDFIPB) have promoted 3,218 Immigration Officers to the next rank. Amongst those promoted is ace Immigration spokesman, King Ekpedeme.
The new development was conveyed through a release signed by the Director/Secretary, CDFIPB, Mr. Sunday Ogu and dated 23rd November 2016.
The promoted officers cut across the ranks of Assistant Comptrollers General of Immigration (ACG) to Senior Inspector of Immigration (SII).
Thirteen Comptrollers of immigration were promoted to the rank of Assistant Comptrollers of Immigration. Amongst those promoted are Hamman Yerima, Comptroller of Immigration, Delta State Command, Chizobi Dibi of Murtala Mohammed International Airport, Ikeja, Lagos and Olaseni Lawal of Anambra State Command, while 37 Deputy Comptrollers were promoted to the rank of Comptrollers, including the Service Public Relations Officer, Ekpedeme King, Dominic Asogwa of Enugu State Command, Joshua Ajisafe of Ogun command and Azare Abdullahi of ECOWAS and African Affairs Section, Lagos.
Again, 95 officers were also promoted from the rank of Assistant. Comptroller to Deputy Comptrollers, amongst them, Tanko Kutana of the Document Fraud Unit at the NIS headquarters, Abuja, Henry Aiyewumi, Passport Office, Calabar and Aniefiok Essien of Oyo State Command.
Further breakdown shows that 171 Chief Superintendents were promoted to Assistant Comptrollers, 343 Superintendents been promoted to Chief Superintendents, 58 Deputy Superintendents to Superintendents, while 506 Assistant Superintendents (I) to Deputy Superintendents and 298 Assistant. Superintendents (II) to Assistant Superintendents (I). Others are in the inspectorate cadre.
The Comptroller General of Immigration, Muhammad Babandede has on behalf of the Hon. Minister of Interior, Lt. General Abdulrahman Dambazau (Rtd) congratulated the promoted officers.
He promised that government would ensure that officers are elevated regularly. However, further promotion process would be done electronically and only after officers have completed the requisite courses.
Finally, he enjoined them to justify their well-deserved elevation through renewed dedication to duty.
