That Nigeria’s modelling icon, Yemi Fawaz has died at age 64 is an established fact.

However, millions of Nigerians are not aware of how she died but we can tell you for free that the nation’s first supermodel died of colon cancer on Wednesday, February 20^th, 2019 at Lenox Hill Hospital, New York.

Family sources added that she had a hole in her heart and her kidney had begun to fail her before her death.

For those who don’t know, she started her modelling career and became a supermodel in the late 70s. She also established a modelling school and did a lot for the fashion industry in Nigeria. She left Nigeria in 1997 and didn’t return until 2016. She is survived by her 33-year-old daughter.
