Information reaching us has it that Delta State new governor, Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa has started plotting to rubbish the administration of his predecessor, Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan. Insiders revealed that the evil plot to discredit all the laudable achievements of Ex-Gov. Uduaghan started after the new governor won the PDP guber primary in the state this year.

Our sources told us that the new governor and his loyalists game plan, played out last week when the Accountant-General of Delta State, Mr. Cyril Agbele who is from the same Anioma land with the new governor disappeared from the state for one week towards the end of ex-Gov. Uduaghan’s administration.

We were told that outgoing governor Uduaghan had already approved payments for workers salaries, his aides entitlements and payment for contractors who have completed their various projects in the state and it was just left for the Accountant-General to pay them and he decided to disappear at that critical time of the administration, thus putting the outgoing governor in very bad light before the state workers, his aides and contractors.

Our sources said the disappearance of the Accountant-General is part of the conspiracy of Gov. Okowa and his loyalists to rubbish ex-Gov. Uduaghan in his last days in office.

That’s not all, we gathered that the disappearance of the Accountant-General is just the first part of Gov. Okowa’s vendetta against his former boss.

Those in the know said that soon the governor’s hatchet men will start to rubbish and discredit ex-Gov. Uduaghan’s achievements.

They added that they have started recruiting some of the former governor’s aides promising them juicy appointments and contracts so that they can be part of the grand plot to destroy the ex-governor.

Ex-Gov. Uduaghan confirmed the conspiracy against him a day to his handing over to Gov. Okowa.

The ex-governor stated on Thursday, May 28, 2015 when Permanent Secretaries and retired Permanent Secretaries paid him a farewell visit at Government House, Asaba expressed surprise that after a fruitful discussion on arrangements for the inauguration of the new administration including security and entertainment, the Accountant-General made himself incommunicado.
According to him, “the Accountant General has disappeared in the last five – six days. The truth is that on Thursday we met and I told him we have some payments to make in the areas of the swearing-in ceremony coming up tomorrow (today), he did not object, he did not say no and on Sunday, I was calling him but he was not picking my calls.”

“And of course on Monday his phones have been put off and on Tuesday, he sent in a paper that he was sick. By Wednesday, he sent in a memo and I find this act very inconsistent and irresponsible,” he stated.

“If there is something that I am doing that is not right, he should be free to tell me it is not right rather than disappearing… just imagine running the affairs of the state for a week without funds, even security men has started withdrawing from their posts across the state.”
“You know the security implication of this, particularly when peace and security is a key agenda of my administration and I cannot compromise on it. It is a conspiracy to grind my administration to a halt and an attempt to set me up on a collision course with the incoming administration. I think is very irresponsible.”

Insiders added that the new No. 1 citizen of Delta State deep grudges against his former boss and friend stemmed from the fact that he was supporting another candidate, Anthony Obuh to take over from him as governor before high wire politics favoured him to win the guber primary.
