If hardworking and brilliant Executive Governor of Lagos State for the past seven years, Mr. Babatunde Raji Fashola SAN is given the opportunity to pick his successor, those close to him told us that he would rather choose Mr. Olasupo Shasore (SAN) a former Commissioner for Justice and Attorney General of Lagos State.

Insiders added that the governor has a penchant for Shasore and this explains why he made him chairman of Lagos Home Ownership Mortgage Scheme (Lagos Homes) an agency saddled with providing affordable and decent houses for the good people of Lagos State. We gathered that the governor is very impressed with what his anointed governorship candidate has done at Lagos Homes and has confided in some of his bosom friends that Shasore is the perfect man that can continue the good job he has been doing in Lagos State for the past seven years.

That is not all, we were told that another reason the governor is bent on Shasore is the fact that he’s a lawyer and Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN) just like him and he’s a Christian. Similarly, just like the present governor, Shasore was born and brought up on the Lagos Island about 50 years ago.

Be that as it may, those in the know told us that one of the main reason the governor is rooting for Shasore is that he is not a professional politician exactly like him, that he will concentrate on giving dividends of democracy to Lagosians when he becomes governor and let others play the politics exactly as he has been doing for the past seven years.

While Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu is the leader of APC in Lagos State and plays all the politics, Gov. Fashola concentrates on good governance to the good people of Lagos State.

Meanwhile, sources revealed it was because of the plans Gov. Fashola has for Shasore that he nominated him for the National Conference at Abuja this year; he was part of the delegates that represented Lagos State.
