Governor David Umahi of Ebonyi State made a shocking confession recently. The former deputy governor of the state who is now the No. 1 citizen of the south east state revealed that he was seriously flogged by his teachers while in primary and secondary schools.

His Excellency confessed that one of his teachers, Mrs. Franca Egwu did not spare the cane on him. The governor confessed that Mrs. Egwu was such a strict teacher that she usually flogged the hell out of him whenever he stepped out of line. His Excellency told all those who care to listen that he is very grateful to Mrs. Franca Egwu today because the strict discipline she instilled in him made him who he is today in the society. He revealed that today, Mrs. Franca Egwu is the Secretary of Ebonyi State Secondary Education Board.
