There may not be end at sight for the crisis which has pitched two Enugu prominent politicians apart. Incumbent governor of Enugu State, Sullivan Chime and the deputy senate president, Senator Ike Ekweremandu, have been at loggerheads for no other reason but political reasons and this has made Enugu PDP chapter to be divided.

According to information, the lingering feud between Chime and Ike is said to have constituted a source of concern to the national leader of PDP and efforts were being made to reconcile the two factions, but with the latest on ground, the issue is said to have further gone out of hands.

We were informed recently that the Enugu state House of Assembly served an impeachment notice on deputy governor of the state, Sunday Onyebuchi, and the outcome still hang in the balance. Although, the Assembly has given the reason behind its action but many believed the move against Onyebuchi is the unseen hand of his boss. Governor Chime is alleged to have crossed his subordinate, Sunday for alleged disobedience both in the state administration and political ambition, but those in the know said Sunday’s travail might not be unconnected with his allege patronage of his boss political foe, Senator Ike. Evident of the claim, according to source; is how another assembly member and the younger brother to senator Ekweremandu, Honorable Mathias did not sign the impeachment notice served on the deputy governor. Presently, the impeachment saga is further said to have degenerated the issue between Chime and Ike.

What has been the bone of contention from inception according to what is believed is speculated governorship ambition of Ike, which is said to negate the interest of the incumbent governor.
