Glo’s Slide ‘n’ Bounce Concert Sends Ibadan Into Frenzy

Glo BounceThe much expected music concert organized by Nigeria’s national telecommunications carrier, Globacom, Slide ‘n’ Bounce hit the city of Ibadan on Saturday, sending vibes of excitement round the city.
The concert, which was held at the Jogor Event Centre, featured fast-rising music act, Reekado Banks, and other accomplished stars, such as African Rapper Number 1, MI, Wande Coal and P-Square.
The Ibadan edition of the Glo ‘Slide n Bounce’ concert was the first in the series of 11 concerts lined up for the entertainment of Nigerians by Globacom in the weeks ahead. The concert provided a good start to the series, by giving the audience what to talk about for the rest of the year.
With DJ XGee manning the music console and TV presenter, Jimmy D Hypeman, piloting affairs, the artistes one after the other, climbed the stage to thrill the audience.
The first to mount the stage was Reekado Banks, closely followed by Wande Coal, who doled out hits from his old MoHit group as well as his latest work, A si ma peyin.
Rapper, MI and sensational performing twins, P-Square practically demonstrated why they have remained on top of the Nigerian music scene for so long.
To add spice to the occasion, a singing competition was organized, which was won by a member of the audience.
“My joy goes beyond coming second at the singing competition. That Globacom can give me this huge platform to showcase my talent is a big plus, and I have no regret coming for this show. I had been looking forward to it and I am fulfilled tonight”, said Omotolani Ojo, a female rapper who came second at the singing competition.
The duo of GAD and Sossi, both local artistes in Ibadan, made a lasting impression on the crowd with scintillating performances to the acclaim of the guests.
The next edition of the concert is expected to hold in Port Harcourt this Saturday.
