Glo’s Iconic Comedy Show Holds In 11 Cities

glo-LogoSubscribers to national telecoms operator, Globacom, in eleven cities across the country will soon experience another dose of fun and humour as the company prepares to kick off its hilarious comedy show, Laffta Fest, in the locations.
The company which only on Monday announced the commencement of its musical concert, Slide & Bounce, later this month, said the Laffta Fest show would start in Benin, Edo State, on August 30, and later move to 10 other cities, underscoring what industry watchers see as interesting times for Glo subscribers.
Globacom said in a statement that Africa’s most popular comedians will thrill its subscribers in Benin, Victoria Island, Abeokuta, Surulere, Port Harcourt, Ikeja, Ibadan, Ikorodu, Egbeda, Abuja and Ijebu-Ode. After the premier in Benin, the show train will move every weekend to the other locations where road shows will be held to herald the event.
The comedians include Glo ambassador’s; Basketmouth and Helen Paul as well as the newly signed brands ambassadors of the company, Bovi and AY. There will also be a guest appearance by Salvador from Uganda, Globacom added.  They will be complemented by other comedy merchants such as Okey  Bakassi, I Go Die, Gordons, Julius Agwu, Seyi Law, Funny Bone, Dan De Humorous, Buchi, Omo Baba, Osama and Bash.
Laffta Fest will also feature award-winning artistes and Glo ambassadors such as Flavor, Wizkid, Burna Boy, Wande Coal, Korede Bello, D’ija, Rekaardo Banks, Pasuma and Saheed Osupa. Glo also said that DJ Jimmy Jatt, DJ Neptune, DJ X Gee, DJ Spinali, DJ Switch and DJ Tor will provide music to spice up the event.
The company added that Laffta Fest is part of its contribution to the development of the entertainment industry in Nigeria. “Globacom has been in the forefront of supporting and improving the entertainment industry in Nigeria, with a view to developing enterprising talents in the music and comedy genre,” the statement read, adding that, “We are totally committed to initiatives that will promote the entertainment industry in Nigeria.”
The first hundred guests to arrive at each location will enjoy photo opportunities with Glo ambassadors at the venue.
On how to be part of the fun, Glo said existing customers of the network should use up to N3,000 on calls, SMS and data on the network in a month, and text ‘LOL’ and location of the show which they want to attend to “33001.”  For example, subscribers wishing to attend the show in Benin are encouraged to text ‘LOL BENIN’ to 33001.
