In a renewed drive to bring service delivery closer to the people, Globacom on Tuesday opened a new flagship retail outlet, Gloworld, at the Kada Entertainment Centre, Sapele Road, Benin City.
The opening of Kada Cinema Centre Gloworld brings to three the number of Globacom’s customer care centers in Benin City, with the first and second shops located on Mission Road and Agbor Park Road respectively.
Speaking at the commissioning ceremony, the National Sales Coordinator, Mid-West Territory, Globacom, Mr. Offor Augustus-Ndu, said that the new Glo world shop in Benin “is part of our efforts at ensuring that our esteemed customers, especially those in the G.R.A. axis of Benin City, do not have to go far before they can access our customer care services.”
“Kada Entertainment Plaza is strategic as it is one of the busiest areas in Benin City where diverse segments of our customers congregate. Since it is open every day of the week, it will give our customers that visit the plaza the opportunity of experiencing our quality customer service even as they catch their fun. This is why the Gloworld shop in Kada Entertainment Plaza is a huge development for us in Benin City,” he said.
He stated further that “the shop will extend its services into the late evening, everyday, including public holidays. This means that, at almost any time, our well-trained customer care staff will be on ground to attend to customers’ enquiries.”
Commissioning the new Gloworld outlet, the Chairman of Ovia South West Local Government Area of Edo State, Hon. Moris Ogunrobo-Ovia commended Globacom for always making “customers number one in all its activities.”
Speaking at the event, the Ovia South West Council boss stated that, “Globacom has from inception in Edo State rendered wonderful services to our people. That a new shop is being opened at Kada Cinemas by Globacom shows how thoughtful the company is and I want to sincerely appeal to Globacom not to rest on its laurels. It should leave no stone unturned in ensuring that our people continue to get the best. On our part as government, we shall continue to encourage the company and support all its efforts here in Edo State”.
Immediately, the shop was opened, over hundred enthusiastic Glo subscribers, trooped in to make inquiries on different products and services available, as well as expressing joy at having a customer care centre on the axis.
Enoma Omoregbe, a legal practitioner and one of the early customers at the shop said he was delighted, “that Globacom is opening a shop in the GRA end of Benin City. This is a welcome development and this goes to show that the company cares more about the people.”
While Speaking on her experience at the new shop, Iyesoge Ogbeifun, a student of the University of Benin, commended Globacom for opening a customer care centre in the area, and added ” You can imagine how nice it will be when people who come here for fun can also resolve their issues at the Glo shop.”
