Funke Akindele’s Arrest Latest

That star actress, Funke Akindele, a.k.a Jenifa alongside her husband, Abdul Rasheed Bello were on Monday 6th April, 2020 arraigned at the Chief Magistrate Court 1 Ogba and sentenced to 14 days community service for violating the restriction order by the Lagos State Government is an established fact.

Be that as it may, 300 Muslim worshipers in Agege have defied the Lagos State Government directive on social distancing and went to mosque to pray.

Members of the Taskforce team COVID-19, comprising of Lagos State Environmental Protection Agency (LASEPA), Lagos Safety Commission and the Rapid Response Squad, saw the Muslim faithful observing their evening prayer (Solatul Eshai) in a large congregation and went to enforce the directive.

Muslim youths attacked the team chanting ALLAHU AKBAR.

The next day, head of RRS in Lagos state DCP Tunji Disu visited the community to appeal to the Muslim faithfuls to comply with the State Government’s directive on religious gathering and social distancing.

The Imam was not arrested, none of the 300 worshipers who physically attacked the Task force was arrested but Funke Akindele was arrested for flouting the same law that these 300 Muslim worshipers violated.
