Fred Majemite Didn’t Collect N500 Million From Okowa – Media Aide

The Head, Media & Public Communication, Fred Majemite Political Vanguard, Ovie Edomi has debunked the rumour that Delta State governorship aspirant, under the flagship of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Olorogun Barrister Fred Majemite received the sum of N500million from the state governor, Ifeanyi Okowa to contest the election.

His words: “Silence is golden but certainly not all the time. It is on this strength, that I, on behalf of Olorogun Barrister Fred Majemite and members of the Fred Majemite Political Vanguard wish to inform the general public especially Deltans that the speculation making the rounds that Olorogun Barrister Fred Majemite was given N500million by the Delta State Governor, His Excellency, Senator Dr Ifeanyi Okowa or any official of the Delta State Government is not true.”

“At no time in about a year that Olorogun Barrister Fred Majemite went round Delta State doing one on one consultation with elders and leaders of the Party across the three Senatorial Districts up till the peak of the PDP Primaries, did Olorogun Barrister Fred Majemite receive a dime from the Delta State Governor or the Delta State Government or any person in Government.”

“This clarification has therefore become necessary to refute the rumour that is spreading like wildfire that Olorogun Barrister Fred Majemite collected money from the Delta State Governor to contest the Delta State Governorship in order to split Urhobo and nay Delta Central votes.”

Edomi said Majemite had enough revenue to fund the project before he made up his mind to contest.

“The rumour making the rounds is, therefore, the evil imaginations of those who never believed that Olorogun Barrister Fred Majemite has the financial strength to persecute the Governorship project from the scratch to the end. Infact, many had predicted that he was going to withdraw or step aside midway but to their amazement, Olorogun Barrister Fred Majemite had one of the best campaign offices in Asaba and ran one of the best-organised campaign organisations all through.”

“As a man of the people, a grassroots politician with wide contacts and a lawyer of repute, Olorogun Barrister Fred Majemite got few high net worth individuals and corporate organisations to support his governorship aspiration, but none of those who supported Olorogun Barrister Fred Okiemute Majemite work for the Delta State Government,” he said.
