Billionaire businesswoman, Folorunsho Alakija’s marriage has crashed like a tokunbo car engine.

The richest woman in Nigeria has separated from her husband, Modupe Alakija after 48years of marriage.

According to our sources the couples have been having challenges in their marriage which they could no longer handle any more and have decided to go their separate ways instead.

Sources squealed to us that the husband has allegedly moved out of their Ikoyi mansion in Lagos and has taken refuge in another house in Ikoyi.

Rumours have it that the split between the couples is coming on the heels of a wedding for one of their sons. Sources said the wedding was done privately without media presence.

Sources alleged that the invited guests were meticulously vetted and photographers were restricted. Sources said that from all indications that the wedding was supposed to be kept away from the public.

Folorunsho and Modupe Alakija got married in November 1976. The 48years marriage produced four sons and grand children.

For those who don’t know, Folorunsho Alakija was former First Lady of Nigeria, Maryam Babangida‘s fashion designer. Her husband opened the outfit for her on Adeniran Ogunsanya. It was a whole building.

The man at the time was a topshot in an oil company. I think Chevron.

During liberalisation of the oil industry, Mrs. Babangida influenced the allocation of Agbami 1 and 2 to their company Famfa Oil.

Contrary to story making the rounds Famfa Oil is owned by Mr & Mrs Alakija and it is Mr. Alakija that runs the company with 2 of their 4 boys.
