A statement issued by Chief Otems Otaka Eme on behalf of the family said: “It is with a heavy heart but with the utmost submission to the will of God that the families of the late Elder K.U. Eke, Nde Nnem Inyafu and Nde Nnem Ola of Abiriba community in Ohafia Local Government Area of Abia State announces with regret the death of our matriarch, Madam Ahudiya K. U. Eke, which sad event took place on Monday, September 18, 2017, at Sapiens Specialist Hospital, Port Harcourt, Rivers State.”

“Her death is indeed an irreparable loss to those who had come across her during her lifetime. She was kind, hardworking and, above all, humble. The grace of God was manifest in her and she radiated it around her dependants and associates. Her peaceful disposition was marvellous and worthy of emulation. She preached peace, lived in peace and died peacefully.”
