Fayose In Arms Deal Scandal

Gov. Ayo-FayoseThese are not the best of time for Gov. Ayodele Peter Fayose of Ekiti State. Insiders at the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) squealed to us that the politician allegedly collected N1.2 billion meant for procurement of arms from the office of the former National Security Adviser (NSA), Col. Sambo Dasuki.

Our sources added that he deposited the money into his personal account with Zenith Bank Plc. branch in Ado-Ekiti and the account of his Spotless Hotel. We gathered that it was the money he allegedly used to bribed security officials and others during the guber election in the state. The Nigeria Army is said to have handed over the officers involved in this bribery allegation to the EFCC.

It is interesting to know that a Nigerian Army Captain, Sagir Koli came out with an audio recording of how former Minister of State for Defense, Mr. Musiliu Obanikoro and former Minister of Police Affairs, Jelili Adesiyan and other PDP chieftains connived with army officers to allegedly rigged the last governorship election in Ekiti State that brought Fayose to power.

Sources at the EFCC disclosed to us that those involved will soon be brought to justice. They added that this explained why the EFCC frozen the personal account of Gov. Fayose.
