The people of Umukegwu-Akokwa in Ideato North L.G.A. of Imo State have been thrown into mourning following the demise of one of their illustrious daughters, a devout Christian and a notable community women leader, Ezinne Theresa Ejinwanyi Mbachu, (Nee Obuegbe) on 4th September, 2015 at the age of 85 years, after a brief illness.
According to the burial programme released by her family and signed by Nze Edmund Mbachu, her remains will leave Mater Amabilis Hospital Mortuary, Akokwa at 7.00am on Friday, 13th Nov. 2015 for her residence in Umuishii, Amaorji, Umukegwu-Akokwa, where she will lie in state at 8.00am. Thereafter, there will be requiem mass at St. Aloysius Catholic Church, Umukegwu-Akokwa at 10am followed by interment at the Late Benedict Mbachu’s Compound the same day.
The Late Ezinne Theresa Mbachu (a.k.a. Emeru ji Ahu) is survived by many children, grand children and a host of other relations and in-laws among whom are Sir Ignatius Mbachu, a Port Harcourt based businessman and Chief Flexy Gbuzuo Emeghebo (Italy) for in-laws.
