To refresh the tone of Nigerian Idol Season 7, popular multi-award-winning music icons Dapo Oyebanjo, popularly known as D’Banj, and singer-songwriter, Simi, joins Obi Asika as judges for the Bigi sponsored Nigerian Idol to give the show a more exciting and engaging experience which premieres on Sunday, February 6th, 2022 on DStv and GOtv.
Announcing the judges of season 7, the organizers of the show, Multichoice, revealed during a press conference that Seyi Shay, Obi Asika, and DJ Sose held a fantastic season 6 of the most anticipated music reality show.
However, the Idol format worldwide allows changing of judges to refresh the contest as it deems fit, which is why D’Banj and Simi are on board to create a more exciting and engaging experience for fans and lovers of the show. IK Osakioduwa also returns as the host of the show for season 7.
Bigi, Naija’s leading and favourite range of carbonated soft drinks returns as the headline sponsor for the second time. Nigerian Idol Season 7 will premiere on DStv Channel 197 and GOtv Channel 29 on Sunday, February 6, 2022, at 6 pm. The main live episodes will air weekly starting Sunday, 20 March 2022 at 7 pm on Africa Magic Showcase, Urban and Family.
