Thursday, March 28th, 2024 was a red-letter day in the life of Lola Nwankwo, an Enugu-based legal consultant and work ethics trainer for corporate bodies.

On that day, Lola added another year to an eventful and fulfilled life

She revealed to our reporter that she is in her fifties.

A native of Umueji, Ufuma, in Orumba North LGA in Anambra State, Lola is the second daughter and fourth child of late Dr. H.C.C. Nwankwo, a frontline medical practitioner, and Mrs. C.C. Nwankwo, nee Achu, an equally renowned teacher and educationist.

She attended the elite All Saints, now Ekulu Primary School, GRA, Enugu; Federal Government Girls College, Abuloma, Rivers State, and the University of Port Harcourt, where she read Theatre Arts.

Lola worked with Shell Petroleum, during and after her service year, and later, with the Petroleum Trust Fund.

Still later, this humble and determined lady, with high pedigree, enrolled at the University of Nigeria, Enugu Campus, UNEC, where she read Law.

She has worked as Head of Marketing, Harvard Trust Mortgage Bank; General Manager/ Legal Adviser, Akumast Nigeria Limited , a subsidiary of Master Holdings and, from 2013 to 2019,has been a Forum Member of the National Electricity Regulatory Commission.

A community-oriented person, confident yet with compassion, Lola has also served as the Charter President, Rotary Club of Nigeria, Enugu North Branch, with such distinction that a street, at Airport Road Extension, Enugu, was named Lola Nwankwo Drive in her honour.
