Former Governor Nasir El-Rufai of Kaduna State has issued a strong warning to a political support group, ADC Vanguard, against fabricating statements and attributing them to him.
El-Rufai said: “Dear ADC Vanguard, please stop fabricating statements and attributing them to me. I have my own social media accounts where I can share my views and opinions.”
“I am going to disown the statements you created and attributed, not because I necessarily disagree with the message, but because I never made them. That is not the honest way to represent our party or gain traction. Please stop it forthwith.”
This comes after the ADC Vanguard, had quoted El-Rufai as saying that President Bola Tinubu’s administration was ‘Nigeria’s most corrupt and dishonest government’ and had mastered the act of looting shamelessly while deceiving confidently.
The group had deleted the post and issued an apology.
It said; “Dear Mallam El-Rufai, we sincerely apologize for the inconvenience caused. It was never our intention to misrepresent or attribute statements to you. We respect your voice and your platforms as the proper channels for your views.”
