That the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate in the Edo State election held on Saturday, September 21st, 2024, Monday Okpebholo has been declared winner by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) is an established fact.
Okpebholo won the election with a total vote of 291,667, while his closest contestant, Asue Ighodalo of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) got total of 247,274 votes.

- Okpebholo was born in 1970 in Uromi, Edo State. He grew up in a modest family that instilled in him the values of integrity, hard work, and service.
- Okpebholo attended local schools before attending the University of Benin (UNIBEN). He has a Bachelor’s degree in Agricultural Economics. He also has Masters in Public Administration and a Ph.D in Agricultural Economics from the University of Ibadan.
- Okpebholo, besides politics is also an entrepreneur with diverse investments in sectors like hospitality, construction, oil and gas, and agriculture.
- He is a philanthropist, Okpebholo has made impact through his charitable efforts via the Monday Okpebholo Foundation. He has provided scholarships, healthcare services, and vocational training to underprivileged communities.
- Okpebholo began his political career in 2003 when he was elected to the House of Representatives under the PDP. He has been an advocate for agriculture, rural development, and legislative reforms.
- Okpebholo is a Christian and a member of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG).
- He is married to Blessing Okpapi. The union produced two children.
