Edo College Old Boys Association (ECOBA), Lagos branch has received with shock but with gratitude to God Almighty for a life well spent, the death of Chief Tayo Akpata, who was a distinguished member of the Association.

In a press statement signed by the Chairman of ECOBA Lagos, Mr. Godwin Ize-Iyamu, the Association extended heartfelt condolences to the wife of Chief Akpata and his children.

The Association also prayed that God Almighty should grant them the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.

Mr. Ize-Iyamu further stated that the Late Chief Tayo Akpata belonged to the distinguished group of the Association popularly called ‘Ancients’, those who left Edo College, at least 50 years ago and that he meritoriously served the Association in many capacities.

“We will never forget his fatherly role, gentle mien, words of wisdom, erudition and unflinching dedication to the Association and Edo College. We will indeed greatly miss him but we take solace in the fact that he lived a meaningful life”, Ize-Iyamu said.
