D’Banj, Korede, Others Dazzle Fans at Glo Slide ‘n’ Bounce In Benin City

glo-LogoBenin, reputed to be the home of arts and culture, on Saturday set all other activities aside as Dapo Oyebanjo (D’banj), Korede Bello and other star artistes performed at the Glo Slide ‘n’ Bounce concert in the city.
Enthusiastic residents of the city and its environs trooped to the  Best Western Hotel, GRA, venue of the concert, in their thousands, where they  had undiluted  fun  as one artiste after the other delivered explosive performances.
Okey Bakassi who was the Master of Ceremonies at the show sent the audience reeling with laughter in between the music performances by the super stars from Lagos and up and coming  Benin-based artistes who seized the rare opportunity to make  their fans proud.  DJ XGee was on the juke box where he dished out popular dancehall tunes.
Korede Bello mounted the stage with his explosive ”Na God win” song which got the hall pulsating for as long as his performance lasted. He kicked off the night of fun with high energy. He was followed by the energetic Burna Boy, who re-enacted Fela Anikulapo’s stage stunts. Burna Boy dazzled the crowd with songs like “Run my Race” and Checks and Balances”. Wizkid was equally electrifying with his life band as he performed songs including “Ojuelegba” . The Koko Master, D’banj, had a one in a lifetime performance  as he was on stage for close to one hour while  the crowd kept asking for more. Regarded  as one of Nigeria’s best entertainers ever, D’banj’s  performed songs like “Orin yato sorin” and “Eni to ba ta felefele” with incredible energy to the amazement of his fans.
Local artistes who entertained included  R and A, Blue Ice and the visually  impaired Smooth Flavour, who, in spite of his physical limitation,  won the hearts of the audience when he sang about how his destiny could never be destroyed regardless of  present predicament
Evelyn Emokpai, a University of Benin graduate of International Relations, speaking on the show said that she had fun “like never before and it is heart-warming for me to see these stars here on stage free of charge”.
She poured encomiums on Globacom “for always delighting its customers” adding ”when  I travelled two weeks ago, I was told that Glo also had a fantastic comedy show in this same hall and this shows how much Globacom loves the people of Edo State.”
