Famous musician, D’banj has been arrested and detained by the Independent Corrupt Practices and other Related Offences Commission (ICPC).

The singer, we gathered was arrested on Tuesday, December 6th, 2022 after avoiding invitations by the ICPC.

D’banj is being accused of diverting monies earmarked by the Nigerian government for N-Power project. The empowerment programme was set up by the Nigerian government in 2016 to address youth unemployment and increase social development.

D’banj was detained by the ICPC after he eventually showed up at its headquarters in Abuja on Tuesday after the agency had threatened to arrest him anywhere in Nigeria and abroad.

Sources said that D’banj on arrival was subjected to a prolonged interrogation session after which he was detained.

ICPC officials have rejected the singer’s plea for administrative bail since they cannot trust him to attend his trial if he is granted bail.
