Dapo Lam Adesina, like his father, former governor of Oyo State, the Late Lamidi Adesina is not a stranger to politics in Oyo State. Dapo’s name became more popular on the social and political landscape of the state following his two-year tenure as the Commissioner for Youth and Sports in the state.

His principal, Governor Abiola Ajimobi, later moved him to the state Ministry of Industry, Applied Science and Technology, where we were told the Great Lam’s son made many positive impacts, before resigning to contest the House of Representatives election for Ibadan South East/North East Federal constituency.

When news filtered into town months back that Dapo was contesting for a seat in the House of Representatives, many were quick to rule him out of the race, but Dapo was unperturbed as he went ahead with his campaigns and decided to prove that he could stand for an election and win convincingly.

Having won the election and well prepared to move to Abuja in a matter of weeks, we learnt that some of his critics have started retracing their steps back to the young man’s camp.
