Former Minister of Labour and Productivity, Senator Chris Ngige is in hot soup as the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has arraigned him over alleged contract fraud.

Ngige was arraigned on an eight-count charge before a Federal Capital Territory High Court in Gwarimpa on Friday.

Upon arraignment, Ngige pleaded not guilty to all the counts.

In the charge dated October 31, the commission alleged that Ngige used his position to confer undue advantage by awarding multiple contracts to associates and companies linked to him.

Ngige, according to his media aide, Fred Chukwuelobe on Wednesday December 11, 2025 was arrested and detained by the EFCC.
