Once we are all born and one day we will all depart, but every blessed life leaves a legacy behind, to be remembered with, to console the loved ones and to continue the lineage. On Thursday 5^th November 2015, Lady Maria Nweke Onwughalu (Nee Ojiego) bowed out of life’s stage after an illustrious execution of her roles as directed by God Almighty. There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens:  a time to be born and a time to die, a time to plant and a time to uproot,(Ecclesiastes 3:1-2).

So the families of Chief Sir Chris Onwughalu of Umuomam Village and late Chief Umeugochukwu and Madam Maryjane Inekwe Ojiego of Umuka village, both in Osumenyi in Nnewi South LGA of Anambra State, have humbly accepted the departure of lady Maria in total submission to the will of God while taking solace in the sterling legacies she has left behind as a vessel worthy of great honour.

As a wife, mother, sister, inlaw, grandmother and in-law, Lady Maria has surpassed her peers in the number of lives touched in a positive way, using every means available to her. A blessed daughter of Abraham and in evidence of her Abrahamic heritage, a blessing to many, she will be missed and remembered by all, both the high and the humble, especially by the family of Chief Sunny and Dr. Mrs. Nonye Okonwo, her illustrious son in-law and first daughter. It will be recalled that Chief Sunny Okonkwo is an executive director of Ekulo Group of Companies.

On Sunday 10^th January, there will be a vigil mass at Lady Maria’s compound in Umuoma Village by 5pm. On Monday 11^th January, she will lie in state from 7.00 am. By 10.00 am, there will be a funeral high mass at Holy Spirit Catholic Church Osumenyi after which she will be interred at her compound. The outing and thanksgiving service will be on Sunday 17^th January 2016.

Friends and associates of Chief Sunny Okonwko are hereby informed that Chief Sunny will be going on a condolence visit to his in-laws on Tuesday 12^th of January 2016.
