These are not the best of times for former House of Representatives member, Hon. Chidi Duru as the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) is now investigating his activities at First Guaranty Pension Ltd.
Insiders at EFCC squealed to us that Chidi Duru allegedly cornered N16 million and collected N20.5 million as executive allowance without board approval. He is also accused of diverting the company’s assets worth millions of naira for his personal use.
That’s not all, he was said to have also approved the payment of 285,000 dollars to Novare Investments for funny consultancy services and another N31 million for software development without board approval.
Besides, the EFCC equally accused him of forging the signatures of Alhaji Ghali Umar Na-bba, Hon. Austin Opara, Senator Annie Okonkwo and Alhaji Kasim Ibrahim Imam who are shareholders of the company.
The EFCC discovered that Chidi Duru’s bank cheques of N30 million which he presented as his own contribution to the company were never debited from his bank account and we were told that EFCC has been looking for him.
