Many people have risen to criticize the imminent marriage between the Vice President of Nigeria, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo’s daughter, Damilola and Hajia Bola Shagaya’s son Seun Shamsideen. They questioned that how can a Christian daughter be allowed to marry a Muslim, considering the fact that Professor Yemi Osinbajo is a renowned pastor with The Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG).
Others went as far as quoting scriptures like, II Corinthians 6:14… “Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness?”
But to their dismay, Seun has been practicing Christianity for over a decade. Besides, Seun for the first time met Damilola during a monthly Church’s Divine Encounter programme at Abuja stadium. Seun has also attended programmes at the monthly Holy Ghost service.
A family source disclosed that after Seun completed his primary and secondary school education in Nigeria, he went to the United Kingdom, where he enrolled for his A-levels and later bagged his first and second degrees and it was while undergoing his studies in England, that he was introduced to the Christian faith.
For those who don’t still know, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo had earlier announced through his Instagram account… “With joy and praise to the Lord, Dolly and I announce the betrothal of our daughter Oludamilola Osinbajo to Oluseun Bakare.”
