Former Nigerian football star, Emmanuel Amuneke has bared his mind on the reports that he voted for Egyptian striker, Mohamed Salah ahead of Victor Osimhen in the 2023 CAF Player of the Year Award.

He said: “I was never elected to vote in the CAF Awards. A Moroccan journalist came to me and asked ‘Hakimi or Salah’.”

“I said Salah because I played in Egypt and I lived in Egypt and I know some of the guys there. Osimhen was never in the conversation.”

For those who don’t know, Nigeria’s Super Eagles and Napoli striker, Victor Osimhen was crowned CAF Player of the Year on Monday night, beating Salah and Hakimi to the award.
