Senate President Godswill Akpabio has fired warning to Nigerians over a fraudulent online loan application circulating on social media platforms.
Akpabio in a statement by his spokesperson, Hon. Eseme Eyiboh said:
“Members of the public should pay no attention to the advertisement as it did not originate from the Office of the President of the Senate.”
“It is the work of fraudsters and unscrupulous individuals seeking to exploit unsuspecting Nigerians, Akpabio is not involved in any loan program or palliative arrangement.”
“Senator Godswill Akpabio is not collaborating with the CBN or any other financial institution on any loan facility as a form of palliative.”
“The public should disregard such scams and report any suspicious activities to the appropriate authorities.”
For those who don’t know, the fake offer, titled “N200,000 Palliative Loan by the Senate” features an image of Akpabio alongside the coat of arms and the logo of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN).
It was posted on Facebook under the account name Templeshort, it claims to provide instant loan approval.
