Former Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Senator Godswill Akpabio is now begging to join the All Progressives Congress (APC). APC top-shots in Akwa Ibom State squealed to us that the Senate Minority Leader has been making underground moves and appealing to APC leadership in the state to accept him and his followers.

Chief Ita Awak, Akwa Ibom State Publicity Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC) revealed thus: “I am also in the know that he has made some efforts to appease some leaders of the party, pleading for understanding and forgiveness. I am aware of such moves by him.”

Those in the know disclosed to us that the former governor is desperate to join the ruling party (APC) because he is afraid of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC). They added that the politician felt that if the EFCC decides to investigate his eight years tenure as the governor of Akwa Ibom State, they might find out some skeletons in his cupboard and he does not want the Fayose’s treatment from the EFCC.
