Senator Godswill Akpabio has finally become the Senate President of Nigeria.

Akpabio, a former governor of Akwa Ibom State was elected on the floor of the Senate after inauguration.

Akpabio beat his contender, Senator Abdulaziz Yari, both members of the All Progressives Congress to become the Senate President.
