Senate President Godswill Akpabio has lampooned Senator Adams Oshiomhole.
Akpabio speaking during a debate on the floor of the Senate said:
“The man you brought in as governor (Obaseki) has turned against you and against democracy.”
Oshiomhole in his response said: “Just for the record, I didn’t bring him in; he was elected, but I supported him, just the way you supported Governor Udom.”
For those who don’t know, Oshiomhole, brought in Godwin Obaseki’s to succeed him as the governor of Edo State in 2016. His choice of Obaseki was against the wishes and advice of the leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
The APC leaders were in support of Pius Odubu, his then-deputy. But with Oshiomhole’s support, Obaseki defeated Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
However, trouble started after Obaseki refused to include the party leaders in his administration towards.
The issue got to Oshiomhole, whose peace effort failed as Obaseki vowed never to allow any godfather to dictate to him or blackmail him.
This is what led to the political war between Obaseki and his Oshiomhole.
