Akeredolu Fights Mimiko

Governor Rotimi Akeredolu of Ondo State is now fighting his predecessor, Dr. Olusegun Mimiko as the Commissioner for Culture and Tourism in Mimiko’s administration, Mr. Femi Adekanmbi has been arrested by the men of the state police command in Owo.

Adekanmbi, a chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party is a loyalist to former Governor Olusegun Mimiko and the party leader in Owo community.
The PDP chieftain was arrested by security operatives a few hours to the annual thanksgiving he organised and the inauguration of a water fountain he constructed in Owo town.

Insiders said, “The arrest of the former commissioner almost caused crisis in Owo town as his political followers were accusing the state governor, Mr. Rotimi Akeredolu, for the arrest of their leader a few hours to the inauguration of the newly constructed water fountain he has done in Owo town”

Adekanmbi has accused Governor Akeredolu of being the mastermind of this arrest. “This is a clear case of political vendetta and an attempt to silence political opponents. This is not about political gathering or rally, but we only planned the annual thanksgiving which has been in existence for over 10 years.

“No arrest or intimidation can silence me and my followers. This will not affect my love for my people and the urge to bring development to the ancient town of Owo. I am ready to work hand in hand with any individual or organisation toward developing Owo town irrespective of the political beliefs or leaning”
