Governor Ibikule Amosun’s anointed governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ogun State, Adekunle Akinlade has dumped the party like bad habit.

Akinlade has now joined the Allied People’s Movement (APM). His defection is not far from the decision by Muhammad Ndabawa-led APC electoral committee in October which declared Dapo Abiodun winner of the direct governorship primary in the state as against his godfather’s wish.

The APC in Ogun State had been unsettled following the adoption of Akinlade as a consensus governorship candidate by Governor Amosun-led faction of the party.

It would be recalled that Governor Amosun and other members of his faction had move for an indirect primary which was opposed by five of the party’s aspirants but the party’s National Working Committee (NWC) adopted the direct primary election instead.
