For a while now, veteran and firebrand actress, Sola Shobowale, seemed to be missing from the TV screens.

Even as fans are still wondering what could have caused this long absence, the lady fondly referred to as the Nigerian Queen of Drama is back with an intrigue-filled and suspense-packed TV series which was written by two of her children: Taiwo and Kehinde Shobowale.

The TV series tells a story of love threatened by social classification, and a family’s desperate desire not to allow their child marry below the family’s perceived financial status. A boy from a rich home falls in love with a girl from a humble background, but his family doesn’t want him to marry her. However, the story gets more complicated when the boy needs a kidney, and the girl is the only match he can find.

Akin to a breath of fresh air, Nectar tells a familiar story in a new way that is both gripping and enthralling, and is guaranteed to keep viewers at the edges of their seats.
