Counsel to Prince Nonso Nwoko and his immediate younger brother, Barrister Mbanefo Nwoko has been arrested for his role in the forgery of medical report for his client and claimant for the Royal throne of Idumuje Ugboko kingdom.

The arrest tightens the noze round Prince Nonso Nwoko who proclaimed himself the new king of Idumuje Ugboko on February 7, just two hours after the hurried burial of his father, HRM Albert Agbogidi Nwoko III.

Prince Mbanefo was arrested on Thursday in Effrun, Delta state while evading a bench warrant of atrest issued against him for forgery of a medical report for Prince Nonso Nwoko from Hospital Management Board, Owa-Oyibo in Ika North East Local Government.

He had produced the document to back his point client was absent in court on May 31 because he was in the hospital for medical attention.

This was challenged as a ruse for Prince Nonso Nwoko to avoid appearance in court.

The Chief Magistrate in his ruling on 29th June, 2017, ordered the Police to investigate the said medical report from  with a view to uraveling those behind it.

Police investigation revealed that first accused was not in the hospital as there was no document to that effect.

In fact,  the Director, Hospital Management Board, Owa-Oyibo, the disclaimed Medical Report/Excuse Duty and Record of Proceedings in CHARGE NO: MUO/5C/2016, in a letter to the Police.

Prince Nonso Nwoko who is the self proclaimed monarch of Idumuje-Ugboko has a case in court under CHARGE NO: CMA/420C/2016 and CHARGE NO: MUO/5C/2016 for which the warrant of arrest was issued on both. Apart from this he has no fewer than five other legal matters in court ranging from forgery, felony and stealing.

Some of the cases have been in court sine 2012 and the out come of any of them could be costly to his ambition to become the king of Idumuje Ugboko.

Counsel to Chief Eziashi Mr. Ikhide Ehigelua said the embattled Prince Mbanefo Nwoko would appear in court in Asaba on Tuesday, August 15.

In a petition to Commissioner of Police dated July 12, 2017, counsel to Chief Walter Eziashi asked to Police to enforce the warrant of arrest and enforce the law in  “Idumuje-Ugboko Community which has been peaceful up until the self-imposition of Prince Justin Chukwunonso Nwoko as king” According to Chief Eziashi, ” he has as a result taken laws into his hands thereby occasioning a lot of gruesome assault, threat to life and property, abduction, acts of vandalism of vehicles and houses, arson and various heinous offences have seriously affected the peaceful disposition of Idumuje-Ugboko Community and endangered innocent lives of the people/indigenes of the Community; of which all these have left the Community at the brink of war/bloodshed”.

Chief Ezieshi said “there has been series of unrest in the Idumuje-Ugboko Community at the instance of Prince Justin Chukwunonso Nwoko, Prince Mbanefo Nwoko and their group but the police in Delta State through the Commissioner of Police, Delta state has deliberately refused, neglected and failed to execute the bench warrant of arrest ordered against Prince Justin Chukwunonso Nwoko and the ordered investigation and prosecution of those behind the disclaimed medical report.”
