The bitter political war between former Anambra State governor, Mr. Peter Obi and his successor, Gov. Willie Obiano has taken another dimension. The former governor has reacted to a revelation made recently by the incumbent governor that he lied about leaving N75billion in the coffers of Anambra State.

The former governor is wondering why it took Gov. Obiano almost two years to debunk the issue of N75billion he inherited from him. He added that he left N27billion in local currency investment, N26.5billion in foreign currency investment, N28.1billion in certified state/MDS balances.

Besides, he said he made the N75billion statement at a handover ceremony to the incumbent governor and the banks managing directors where these monies were kept were present at the meeting. The former governor revealed that he paid contractors owed by his predecessors and was not owing any contractor before he handed over to his successor and if his successor is confused about the where about of the N75billion he should have called him to explain the where about of the money instead of calling a press conference.
