MIIA Unveils 5th Free Media Training Series For May 2026

The Media Integrity Initiative Africa (MIIA) has announced the fifth edition of its highly regarded Free Quarterly Online Training Programme, scheduled to hold in May 2026, as part of its sustained commitment to advancing ethical, innovative and impact-driven media practice across Africa.

The two-day training will take place on Saturday, 16 May and Saturday, 23 May 2026, from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. (WAT), and will be delivered via Zoom.

Building on the success of previous cohorts which have trained hundreds of media professionals across journalism, broadcasting and public relations, the May 2026 edition will feature four intensive modules facilitated by seasoned industry experts with extensive practical experience.

Day 1 – Saturday, 16 May 2026

 Media Regulation in Nigeria: How Ethical Codification and Co-Regulation Can Boost Professionalism, and Impact the Bottom Line
 Facilitator: Lanre Ìdòwú – Former Staff Writer at Daily Times; Reporter and Head of Investigations at The Guardian on Sunday; Assistant Editor at The Democrat Weekly; Editor and Deputy Editor-in-Chief at Thisweek; Editor-in-Chief at Media Review; CEO and Editor-in-Chief at Diamond Publications Ltd.; Member, National Mass Media Commission; Trustee, Diamond Awards for Media Excellence.
